Absolutely not. No previous horse or riding experience is necessary. All HGE interactions take place safely on the ground, and a certified facilitator will guide you through every step of the process.
No, all of our HGE sessions are strictly ground-based. You will be interacting with the horses dynamically in their environment (such as an arena or pasture). This allows the horses to move freely and respond naturally to your body language, energy, and emotions.
Safety and comfort are our top priorities. You must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots. Please dress in comfortable layers appropriate for the weather, as our sessions take place outdoors or in an unheated arena. Avoid loose jewelry or dangling scarves.
As prey animals, horses are highly sensitive to their surroundings and acutely aware of non-verbal communication, energy, and intent. They act as an honest, non-judgmental mirror, reflecting your internal emotional state in real time. This immediate feedback helps you cultivate self-awareness, practice setting healthy boundaries, and develop deep self-trust.
No. While Horse Guided Empowerment is deeply therapeutic, experiential, and healing, it is an experiential learning and coaching modality rather than clinical psychotherapy. We focus on somatic awareness, emotional regulation, and personal development goals in the present moment.
Sessions are typically held rain or shine inside our indoor arena. In the event of severe, unsafe weather conditions, we will contact you prior to your session to reschedule.
We require at least 24 hour notice to cancel or reschedule a session without penalty.
